Michael is an accomplished and dynamic leader who combines his ability to develop and implement strategic and continuous improvement for the clients he serves, with his hands-on tactical approach. He began his career in an operations capacity within the automotive industry, and continued to advance through manufacturing operations to become a lead Lean Manufacturing Manager and Launch Project Planner.
Michael provides value in areas such as: manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations, quality systems, material flow, budgeting and development, employee development, safety, operations management, and lean manufacturing.
Professional Bio
Throughout his more than thirty-eight-year career with General Motors, Michael supported various organizations, including Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, Product Reliability and Testing, and Manufacturing Operations from Front Line Supervisor to Lean Manufacturing Manager and Launch Project Planner.
Michael has recently completed an assignment through Allegiant International at Tremec, an international producer of high torque manual and DCT transmissions. During this assignment Michael was directly involved in the design, sourcing and procurement of parts for a state of the art transmission at Tremec's Belgium and USA offices.
Michael has recently worked with Motor Coach Industries and Frank Fair Industries as CEO of MRK Performance Solutions to implement a Problem-Solving Process (Team Leader Continuous Improvement) and Leaders Standard Work, along with ensuring that the Quality-At-The-Source (QAS) Lean Manufacturing System was maintained and improved. He also worked with the leadership teams on Strategy Plan Deployment in all levels of the organization.
While Michael was acting in a lead role within General Motors, numerous accomplishments were realized such as launching the General Motors Gen V Engine program at segment leading performance, and launching the 6T70/75 Transfer Gear and HFV6 Engine Programs utilizing the General Motors Powertrain Global Product Development Process (GPDP) and the Global Manufacturing System (GMS).
Education & Training
Michael received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York in Buffalo, in Business, Management and Economics, along with a diploma from Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology in Business Leadership.
His continued education includes lean manufacturing techniques, numerous visits to competitor facilities including Toyota Georgetown, Nissan Assembly and Manufacturing in Smyrna and Decherd, Tennessee, and NUMMI in Fremont California. He was key instructor for Lean Manufacturing techniques in the facilities that he has worked.
